Please briefly describe your company. What distinguishes it?
Parken & Management GmbH is a young family business that was founded in 2017 and has decades of experience in parking management and center management due to its executive and shareholder structure. We stand for barrier-free, ticketless and barrier-free parking via license plate recognition, a parking system that we believe is unrivalled. We strive for this idea every day, currently with a team of around 40 employees.
What are your responsibilities at Parken & Management?
Our company features flat hierarchies, we are organized in a pragmatic and decision-oriented way: Two regional managers and a commercial manager together with Managing Director Werner Nuoffer are responsible for the operative business. As regional manager for Northern Germany, I am the first point of contact for our customers, especially property owners. I coordinate project launches and new openings and take care of our personnel planning in Northern Germany. Together with our long-term partner Scheidt & Bachmann, I am also responsible for the development of innovative and digital parking solutions – in terms of usability and economic efficiency.
When did you get to know evopark?
Innovation is our company core, which is why we intensively monitor corresponding approaches and start-ups in the parking industry, of course also evopark. After the takeover of evopark by Scheidt & Bachmann, a cooperation with the company has become even more interesting for us, as we focus first and foremost on integrated end-to-end solutions.
What opportunities do you think digital solutions offer for parking?
No queues when entering and exiting, no waiting time at the pay station, fewer complaints, less environmental impact from tickets – I could go on with this list. Digitalization increases convenience and the parking experience for customers. For us as the managing company, digital-based solutions enable us to optimize capacity utilization, provide important statistical data to improve our services and streamline processes, for example through automated interfaces to accounting.
How do you face the trends “Connected Mobility” and “Urban Mobility”?
We regard ourselves as pioneers, which for us means: we act instead of reacting. With our ticketless and barrierless parking solutions and mobile payment options, we are among the first in the industry. We are constantly evaluating where we can optimize our service and our offer in order to create even more connected mobility services.
How do you value cashless or ticketless parking?
We focus exclusively on ticketless parking, both in the management of car parks and parking spaces as well as in parking surveillance – this is the future, both from a usability and an environmental point of view due to the elimination of tickets. Cashless parking is on the rise, but it is not yet possible to do without cash. We massively promote payment by card or app and also maintain pay stations.
What are your plans to set trends for digital parking in Germany together with evopark?
We are currently digitizing the booking of permanent parking spaces in our 20 car parks with evopark and look forward to further cooperation.
